It was a private adoption, she told my Father, Thomas Albert Norman-her 1st husband-she was 6 years old and remembers being in the orphanage and remembers being adopted. The State File No. 2513 The record was filed in 11-?-1939. The abstract was issued 10-7-1958. She died in Douglas County, Oregon in 8-?-1972 in a car accident. She had remarried, Eldon Wayne Patterson. Had two daughters by Thomas A Norman. Tamera Inez Norman 12-10-1957. Dana Raye Norman 6-23-1960. And a daughter Donna Marie Patterson with her 2nd husband. 8-28-1968. State Health Officer on her abstract was Harold M. Erickson MD. State Registrar was Marion Martin. (Update) Have never known any information about the Birth Parents. Sharon Kay McCormack had hazel eyes, and light brown hair. I basically know absolutely nothing about the birth mother or birth father or any other birth family, nothing about what they looked like only that she was given up for adoption & recalled being old enough to remember being in an Orphanage. On the abstract it says Portland, Oregon as birth city and state. But on the Social Security Death Index it says Suffolk (West Virginia ?) (Massachusetts ?).

Second was given 5-6-1953 by Dorothy Ruble, Phychologist Division of Child Welfare This is all I know except that my adoptive mother said I had a sister. Both parents are probably dead. They would both be in their ninetys. I would like to know where they lived and how they died. I would be interested in any birth relatives. My adoptive mother never moved after I was adopted so they could have easily found me. My adopted father died when I was nine. I found the adoption decree in the safety deposit box after mother passed. Other information was obtained when I went to Charleston and asked for my medical history. Biological mother had three siblings. One older brother died from pneumonia and a younger brother that died of intentional influenza. Biological mothers occupation was a bookkeeper, her height was 5'7" tall, her hair reddish brown and eyes were gray. Her age at birth 32. Birth father height 5'10" tall, hair was brown and his eyes blue. His age at birth was 35. (Update) I am 5'2" tall, with brown hair and brown hair...well gray now but brown from a bottle. I was adopted two days before my second birthday according to my adopted mother. I have two sons born in 1972 and 1975. Both have brown eyes and light brown hair.

The WV Dept. of Human Resources handled the Adoption. We were placed with Rachel and Marcellus Cottrill as Foster Parents when we were 5 days old. They later adopted us. At some point before the adoption we lived at the Davis Child Shelter in Charleston (Kanawha Co.) WV. A relative (adoptive) told us she saw the last name Snodgrass on some papers. My twin brother had some health problems when we were born. Our birth mother may have been approx. 23 years old at time of birth.

All Other Information: Amy and Judy have been missing for a long time. My father (Robert Lee) has not seen Amy since she was 4. Other siblings include, Phyllis and Charles (Nicknamed Bud) As far as I know their birth mother died from a bloodclot, and their birth father died from Leukemia. All of the children I believe were adopted out individually. Charles Jr. died a few years ago of a heart attack, in WV, was married to Helen. There is not alot of information, as my father does not know alot of it. (Update) I found alot more information from my dad. The adoptee's name was Amy Carol Lee. She was actually almost 6, and put into foster care. He does not know if her foster family adopted her or not. The birth mothers name was Mary Catherine Maude Lee (Davis) Father's name was Charles Wilmo Lee. Amy was born in 12-?-1958. Amy had red hair and blue eyes. Mary was 38 when she had Amy. Mary had black hair and brown eyes, Charles had blue eyes and red hair. I am working on getting birthdates, but Mary's were 1918-1963. My fathers (Robert) birthday is 8-15-1950. The other siblings are Phyllis, Charles Jr, Judy, Robert. I will get more information from my Dad as he remembers it. (Update) I have found out that Amy's father was a welder and her mother was a housewife. Also, their father's cause of death was not leukemia, but pnuemonia.
