She was put up for adoption in ?-?-1985, the birth mother who is my aunt by common law marriage had put her baby up for adoption after immediately giving birth at Baptist Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. This hospital was known as the hospital to give birth in for adoptions, it is no longer in service and I'm not sure when it went out of service. Also I don't know the exact date of birth but it was between 3-?-1985 and 8-?-1985. I don't believe that my uncle (Richard Brown) will be named on any paperwork for the adoption but he is the birth father. All Other Information: I am writing because I am ashamed to say that on the adoption records everything was false. Both myself and the father lied on the forms. I lied because at that time I was in wittness protection and had no choice. I just wanted to give my son the oppertunity to be able to locate me if he choice to do so. I do not want to do anything to upset his life but I wanted to be able to locate me if he wanted to. My real name is Deborah St.John. I am truly sorry for giving you up but I really had no choice in the matter. I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant, I loved your father with all my heart and he loved me. The thing I did not know was he also lied about his idenity and he was in the prime of his career. I know that he loved you and this was just as hard for him as it was for me. I did not have any family support as like I said I was in protection and could not go home or have any contact with my family. Your father left me approxmently three months after you were born but you were already adopted. The adoption was arranged to be an open adoption, but I sadly chose not to do that. I knew that I would come get you eventually and that would have disrupted everyones life, and confuse you and I did not want to hurt you. I just want you to know I love you, and think of you everyday. I can not believe you are going to be 20 years old already. I want you to know I did almost change my mind. I went back to the hospital with cloths and a car seat I was dressing you in the nursery all ready to take you when I looked up through the glass I saw your adoptive parents. I seen the hurt and pain in their eyes. They were devistated After dressing you and seeing their faces God gave me a reassurance that you would be loved unconditionally and your adoptive parents could provide you with everything I could not at that time. I just hope and pray that I did the right thing. I know your father regrets giving you up also. I have not spoken to him since we parted but he has adopted alot of children over the past few years. I think he thinks by doing this it can ease his pain but no matter how many children he adopts he can never replace you. He did say that we would all meet again one day. I have given up on his end as he is so into his career and this would not be good publicity for him. I will be writing him a letter to tell him that I have decided to tell the truth to you if we meet on who your father really is. I would love to see you, I would understand if you decided that you would rather not meet, could you possibly just write me a little letter and let me know that you were given a good life and possibly enclose a picture of yourself. I am now back with my original name and with my family. My father your grandfather has passed away and your grandmother were waiting for the results to see if her cancer has returned.
