All Other Information: Laura was born on 3-24-1918 in Yellville, Arkansas. She was unmarried, and was abt. 26 years old when the baby was born. She was sent to live with my parents Edith (her sister), and Stanley Rollins, in Washington D.C. I have a picture of Laura in 1944, where she looks very pregnant. It was taken outside during the winter. I also have a picture of her boyfriend in 1944, but it only has "Mark" written on it. The baby was born with red hair, I am thinking it was female, but not positive. I think she lived with my parents until the birth, but I have no clue on the hospital, or exactly who the adoptive parents were, or who was in charge of the adoption itself. My mom died in 1993. My Aunt Laura, also went most of the time by the nickname "L.V." Many years later, she married Louie Cox, and lived in Riverbank, California. This child she gave up for adoption, was the only child she ever had. L.V.'s parents were James Cam and Nannie Briggs. They sent her to live with my parents to have, and adopt out the baby as they were very religious, and were ashamed of her. L.V. died several years ago. The only info I have I am giving to you. It was kept a secret, and my mom only told me this much. My cousins and I would like to find the adoptee, to let them know they have cousins who want them to be a part of the family, if they wish to do so. Their birth mother is deceased, but I have medical and personal, and ancestral information they may want, or need. I have been searching for this person since my aunt's death, but continue to hit brick walls, and have had no luck. My cousins are almmost 70, and I am 61. We feel if we do not connect with the adoptee soon, it may be too late. Anything you can do to help us would be so greatly appreciated.

All Other Information: Birth mother told me I had a twin sister who died at birth but several years ago I was mistaken on 2 different occasions for Laurie (Lori) from DC area. Both were army men from Ft. McPherson in Atlanta on way to or from VietNam in ?-?-1969 or so. My Mom said she never lived anywhere near DC but my parents divorced when I was 5 so I never knew. I found my Dad in 2002 but he was dying and refused to tell me anything. In his marine corps. records he was stationed at Quantico in ?-?-1946 or ?-?-1947 and she lived in Fredricksburg, VA. I was told they married in 9-?-1946 and I was born in 6-13-1947 but they were actually married in 9-?-1945. When I asked Mom what happened to my dead twin she said Dad "took care of it" and there was no funeral just a burial but she didn't know where. She became mentally ill later and said she called us Patsy and Penny which doesn't match the earlier story of her being born dead and not being named. I was born 6-13-1947 at GA. Baptist Hospital in Atlanta and my birth cert. was filled out by my Dad and does not show a multiple birth. In 10-?-2007 an acquaintenance from work saw "me" at Bike Week in Daytona, FL and mentioned it at work by saying if I only had a twin she had seen her. I was amazed and told her the story and she promised to look for "me/her" at every trip for Bike Week. Coincidence? Saw segment of Unsolved Mysteries about DC black market adoption agency operating between ?-?-1945-?-?-1950 that told some younger moms their babies were born dead only to steal and sell the babies. I wondered since Mom lived in VA and Dad was at Quantico if he took the baby and gave it to them. It was just a strange intuitive feeling I had when I saw the segment.

Brother's first name is Thomas and lives in Woodbridge, VA. 2 sisters and brother lived with maternal grandmother in Alexandria VA as children. These children were her husband's children. 1 sister lived with maternal aunt, who was not born of the husband. Mother lived in Washington DC at some point in time. Children's ages were 2, 6, 10, and 12 at time of my birth. The 6 year old being Thomas and the 2 year old being the sister not of the husband (lived with maternal aunt, who we believe has no knowledge that the maternal aunt is not her biological mother). My birth mother was divorced at the time of my birth. No information regarding the birth father is known. Mother is currently hard of hearing, has lung cancer and is 91 years old and does not have long to live. Thomas and Thomas's daughter are very interested in reaching out to me, but mother does not want to be contacted and has told social services that family is not aware of her entire past.
