All Other Information: Birth mother was Irene (nee Fycyk), had a girl with John Ruboski in 1947-contact made. Irene later married Peter Legeros (June 28,1950) in St. Constantine and St. Helen Church, in DC. Peter owned a Greek coffee shop w/restaurant in DC, called Filos, and it was on 9th or 7th..Irene and Peter later had a son, George on May 5, 1951. Birth mother's family was originally from Leechburg, PA Adoption handled by Washington Social Services or Jewish Social Services. Possibly adopted from Silver Spring, MD court. Mrs. Savage was the case worker. Another couple, Ethel and David Sachs (Saks, Sacks, Sax?) adopted a baby at the same time. Diana and Donald Weissberg lived in Silver Spring MD at time of adoption. She gave names of 3 lawyers -not sure which one handled case. Also, conflicting dates of adoption, one other being 7-12-1949. We have certificate of birth registration, Record No. 108-49-11216, filing date 6-16-1949. Also have a letter from H. Brylawski, dated 4-16-1962 stating he handled the adoption and that the birth mother was Jewish. Feel this is not valid. Estelle Goldbaum was a family friend who knew of adoption. Also, Armand and Selma Felberg knew Irene and put the Weissbergs in touch with her. Armand was a cab driver on 7th Ave. Mrs. W. says she had a paper notarized at a drug store on the corner of 7th or 9th Ave. Wash, DC regarding the adoption. Both adoptive parents deceased. Adopted brother Jeffrey Stewart Weissberg (10-26-1953?) deceased. Thank You, Angels!
