All Other Information: I do not have a lot of information about my adoption as I would like even though I have always known I was adopted. I do know that I was born in Mobile, Al on 5-3-1970 and brought back to FL. I was adopted out of the Children's Home Society of FL when I was 3 months of age. So I believe my family is from FL and may still live here. I went in the CHS website and entered all my information last year or so and received a letter that my birth mother and a half sibling was looking for me and had contacted them a couple years earlier. I did not have the money to search so I once again was at a dead end, but knowing that they do want and have been trying to contact me has made me want to further my search. Now that the fear of being rejected is gone. If anyone sees this and thinks they know someone who is from my birth family I would love to hear from you.

His first name may have been Thomas. He was stationed at Ft. Benning, Georgia in 1968-69. He was then deployed to Vietnam. Supposedly they wrote letters until she informed him she was pregnant. At the time she lived with her Father and Mother, Charles Clayton Ellis and Mary Gwendolyn Matherson Ellis...and siblings (3 Sisters). Her father was in the Air Force and was stationed on base in Dover Delaware. My mother became pregnant by a military man, age and race marital status unknown. I am not even sure that he was aware of her pregnancy. I believe his name was Bobby. My grandfather moved them to Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she went to a home for unwed teen mothers in Birmingham, AL. She gave birth to a baby boy in 1974 possibly 1975. It is a good possibility this baby boy was born with red hair. I have an older half brother out there somewhere. I would really love to find him.

She had two boyfriends at the time of conception, a dark haired, very tall and thin man who lived with his mother and was unemployed, and a shorter blond man who was born around ?-?-1952, and was adopted at age two from Germany. He was a worker that was a high school graduate, and was tearing down old buildings in Alexander City, AL in ?-?-1975, and my birth mother only lived with him for about 1 1/2 months. She conceived around 5-15-1976 After the birth of twin boys that were approximately 38 weeks gestation, the man adopted from Germany couldn't be found by the social worker, so he may have been a transient worker on a crew, and may have never even known that Barbara Sue Roberts was pregnant, and delivered healthy twin boys in ?-?-1976. Both boys have very blond hair and very blue eyes, and have genetically identical features, coloring, and size to the man adopted from Germany. Our birth mother also lived in Birmingham at a home for mothers that needed a place to live before the birth. The state says that her father was on his deathbed at the time of the birth, and that the birth mother was very attentive to the babies, and wanted to keep them, but also knew that she couldn't provide a home for them. She also visited the twins at least twice during their 5 months in foster care, and was very tender to them.
