All Other Information: I have very little information on my birth parents. My adopted parents are both deceased and I recently found a piece of paper that looks as if it were the bottom part of some type of agreement. It has a line with "Mother's Name" typed under it and the signature of Bernardyn Charteris in what appears to be a left handed signiture above the line. To the bottom left of the paper is typed Witnesses to Signiture: followed by two typed ;ines and the signitures of what appears to be Arline Heine and Heinrich Heine signed on each line respectively. On the outside of the envelope that also contained a birth certificate with the the issue date of June 18, 1946 inside, written in my adopted mother's handwriting was as follows: Edyth (My God Mother, Edyth Wood, Please Examine Carefully! Remove to Your own Vault without mentioning... That is all she wrote but knowing how secretive my adopted mother was, I am sure she meant "not mentioning anything to Nancy.! I do know that my adopted mother knew a lot more than she let on. She told me when I was in my late 30s that supposedly my birth father was an attorney in San diego in practice with his brother who was overseas in the service during the was. His brother's wife remained in San Diego and the two of them got overly friendly one night and I was the result. And I needed to go before my father's brother was discharged from the service. I was born on V.J. Day so I guess my bith uncle was stationed in the Pacific theater, but really don't know. This is all my mother ever told me re my birth parents and to me it sounds like a neat story to base a '40s movie script on. But I am exceptionally smart, extremely logical, and can argue any point cogently and clearly refusing to give in to other people's attempts to use manipulation, insults, or threats to get their way. I am a psychologist with a Ph.D. but had I taken Political Science at the beginning of college instead of my senior year two semesters before graduation, I probably would have chosen Law instead. I was invited by the prof of the Poli. Sci. class to take Constitutional Law the following semester because I did so well in the required class. Otherwise, it may just be a story from my adopted mother's very dramatic imagination. My adopted parents divorced when i was 4 years old and I did not see my father again until I was about to graduate from college. This was at my mother's request, as according to her, it would be better for me if I could forget my father. As if I ever could! He told me that I was actually his biological child from an affair he had with a woman he met while working in Arizona. Because of all of his contacts with physicians through his business, he said that it was easy enough to get one of them to deliver me and pass me off as just a baby the doc had found who was up for adoption and never let my adopted mother know the real origin of my birth. I found this story to be such a horrible betrayal of my mother that at age 19, I almost successfully commited suicide.It wasn't untilI had the above conversation with my adopted mother in my late 30s that I ever had the nerve to tell her what my Dad had told me. She said that it was a total fabrication on his part! and then told me the brothers who were San Diego lawyers story. So I am confused and unsure of what is and isn't the truth. I have three daughters, two of whom are married, and one just became engaged. Before they begin to have children, I feel that I have a responsibility to find out as much as I can about my own biological background as I can. Also, finding that scrap of paper in the envelope with my birth certificate has piqued my own curiosity as well. I would like to at least know what nationalities I come from and something about the background of my birth parents. The only thing I ever wanted to do re the two of them was to thank them for their unselfishness in giving me up for adoption and to let them know that I had turned out well and they could stop worrying and be glad of the choices they had made on my behalf. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me in finding them at this late date. I am writing this on my oldest daughter's 32nd birthday. She was! married on June 23, 2007. Thank you.

All Other Information: My mother is 59,she received a box of letters that her "mother" had written in 1946 and 1947 that never mentioned being pregnant or having a baby. she speaks of a lawyer from Texas (where adoptive parents are from) and money in the letters, but never a baby. her half sister told her when she was a child that Lola Mae Griffin was not her mother. Lola Mae could not have children we have heard due to a tubular pregnancy. my mother looks like her adoptive father, Johnny E Griffin. Lola Mae's family said that they never knew my mother existed until Lola died and my mother was 7 years. Johnny worked in Las Vegas or maybe they moved there just for the adoption. there was an affidavit of birth in November 1954, two weeks after Lola Mae griffin died. the affidavit was submitted by Johnny Ernest Griffin and the attending doctor. Lola Mae Griffin was not my mother's birth mother and that she was adopted, BUT that Johnny E Griffin is the birth father. She also may have been born in California, possible Medura. Apparently, my grandfather was dating a woman in California and then met Lola Mae Griffin and they married. When he went to officially break it off with this other woman, she was pregnant. Since Lola Mae could not have children, Johnny asked the girl if she would give them the baby. She was distraught by the breakup and agreed to let them have the baby or so the story goes. So, maybe Madera was the hospital or maybe since Lola Mae and Johnny were living in Las Vegas, she came there to have the baby. Alton said that he saw a picture of the birth mother and that she had sandy blonde hair. I hope that helps in some way. So, Johnny E Griffin is the birth father and the adoptive father also.
