All Other Information: Looking for info on my Grandmother Julia Grant Pundy. Her mother died 5-16-1891 in West Superior, WI of unknown cause. The death certificate was very incomplete and filed a year after death. I would like to know when my Grandmother was adopted and any other circumstances surrounding the adoption. It remains a mystery to her family. Julia lived with the Hexums before her adoption and married my Grandfather Loritz Norman Pundy in 1913 in Mpls., MN. (Update) The birth Mother Johanna Grant was born on 10-1-1857 in Norway, she immigrated in ?-?-1885. She was 32 at time of the birth of my Grandmother Julia Grant. Johanna and Julia both had brown hair and blue eyes. When Johanna died on 5-16-1891 her remains were placed in Superior Cemetary in WI. Hans Grant might have been born in ?-?-1854 and his hair was brown and eyes blue. The marriage certificate lists Norway as his birthplace and his parents as Jenny (or Johanna) Olson and Ole Olson. There is a census record in 1880 that lists a H. O. Grant living in Grantsburg, WI.

All Other Information: I am looking for information on my grandmother. Caroline Brown was a nurse in Milwaukee, the father is supposedly a doctor from that hospital. Caroline was from Marshfield, Wisconsin, worked in a hospital in Milwaukee, possibly Deaconness (?). I have great reason to believe the birth mother's name was Helen Moseley, born in Wisconsin in about 1902.Information I have received a copy of a letter dated 8-11-1949 from my grandmother attempting to locate her mother. The letter was from the State of Wisconsin, State Department of Public Welfare. Addressed to Miss Renetta Myer, District Supervisor, Division of Child Welfare, Box 196, Green Bay, Wisconsin. The adoption record was located, record of the Wisconsin Home Finding Society which placed the child. The Wisconsin Home Finding Society eventually was taken over by the Orphan and Rescue Home, the records were passed on to the State Dept. of Public Welfare. The information about the child and mother: child, Helen C. Brown, date of birth, 2-21-1924, birthplace, Green Bay, Wisconsin, where received, Clara Barton Hospital, Child was described as very small, no birthweight given, Mother: Helen C. Brown, born at Marshfield, American by nationality, Baptist by church affiliation, health was good, mental capacity, very bright, occupation, nurse, habits were good, school record unknown, residence was Marshfield, Wisconsin. The letter further reveals that the mother left Green bay for Milwaukee for employment and was working at the Milwaukee Sanitarium. A woman had contacted the Children's Home on Webster Street about a friend who needed their help, she knew a young lady that was pregnant. The woman's name was Mrs. S.D. Moseley. Upon further research into the Moseley family, I found them in the census and the head of household was Seldon Devotion Moseley, the wife was Caroline, oldest daughter was Helen. odd coincidence on the names? Just made a research trip to Milwaukee, Wisconsin looking for records, found Helen Mosely, aged 22, parents were Seldon and Caroline Lester Moseley, in ?-?-1924 had obtained a marriage license in Green Bay, Wisconsin on 12-4-1924, and married a Joseph Hansen on 12-10-1924 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Oddly enough, this date was also the date of the finalization of the adoption of my grandmother, Helen C. Brown/Joyous Suzanne Rohloff.

All Other Information: Louise is David's biological mother. David was adopted only by Harold. David's biological father referred to himself as Vaso but he also signed documents as B.V. Papovich. Louise and Vaso met in a hotel in Milwaukee. He worked as maintenance staff while she was learning either decoding skills for morse code or something like that. Vaso was from Yugoslavia. I don't know what region specifically that would be today. I have not found Naturalization records or ship manifests because I can't confirm his first name. I do know he stayed at the Mills Hotel on 161st St. in NY, and I believe the room was 300. I believe that was in ?-?-1927 as he sent a postcard to Louise in ?-?-1927 stating he found work on a steamship and planned to return to Europe. He did not say where and I haven't found proof that he actually left. He proposed but Louise turned him down. I don't know why. I do know that Louise's father and older sister were against a marriage. He may have had a wife or someone back in Yugoslavia but we can't confirm that either. He was heartbroken when Louise turned him down.

All Other Information: Birth parents were in Janesville, WI. Searched through state years ago, birth mother found but refused contact. There were other siblings. Would like medical history. (Update) My mother is the adoptee. Born 7-12-1955. She was adopted through the state of Wisconsin. When she searched through the state of Wisconsin, she was told that parents were married and lived in Janesville, WI. Supposedly around the time of conception, the birth mother found out the birth father was already married so she left to go back home to her father to help with her siblings. Apparently the record says that birth mother had more than 2 siblings and she was the oldest. Her mother was said to have passes away around age 12 or 13 from some sort of cancer. My mother had heard from somewhere that she, the adoptee, was supposed to have had other siblings. Birth mother was said in the record to be 21 and birth father was said to be 33. The birth record said mother was petite with brown hair. Birth father was said to be tall and dark complected. Adoptee has blue eyes and brownish blonde hair. Present height is about 5' 6" tall. Apparently my mother has tried twice through the state and birth mother refused to see her both time. The second time was around 1990 and my mother was told that it sounded like she almost agreed.

All Other Information: In ?-?-1959 At the age of 19 My father was a "Carny" with a traveling carnival. He met a girl while in Madison, Wisconsin, At the time he lived with relatives in St Louis, Missouri, He received a letter stating the girl he met was pregnant, months later another letter stating he had a healthy baby boy, His Aunt and Uncle he lived with kept these letters from him. A couple of years later they told him about it but refused to show the letters. My Dad says he doesnt remember the girls name, He may not but I really think he is keeping it tucked away. We have heard through other family members that the male child was either adopted and that the mother kept him. My sisters and I would love to be able to find him and any and all help is very much appreciated. He may have been adopted through Lutheran Services. He would be my half brother. (Update) The birth fathers hair is dark brown almost black and blue eyes. Not sure about the birth mother, Do not know what month he was born in.
