Robert W.Brown served in the military from 1947, got out, went back in and went to Korea came back and got out and then went in USAF his SS#246-36-6223. rET usaf 1972 Disabled. Drew VA Retirment because of disability, worked for the state of SC from 1973 - 1987. Died June 13, 1988 before he drew his first SS check. He would not talk about it. Abviously not a happy experience. His adopted father died his senior year in High School, which was Bessmer High School in Greensboro. He grew up 1206 Elwell Avenue, Greensboro, NC. Married my Mom, Bobbie Jean Brown, 2-23-1952, moved to Kentucky. They had 4 children. His death certificate was registered in Sumter, SC, Sumter County, USA which is where he and my mother retired to after he got out of the USAF and their address was 5429 Plantation Drive, Sumter, SC 29154. We assume his birth parents are dead and any siblings are probably deceased, but anyone related who could just give us and idea of who the birth parents were and circumstances and so forth. The Children's Home Society of NC, Inc. is supposed to be sending me the unidentifying information, but we would like his age at adoption and lots of other info I don't think they give out. Plus he had his first heart attack at 40 and died at 59, the fourth child in our famaly will soon be 50, so the rest of us are 56, 55, 53 and medical info would be great. We appreciate any help that you can give us. Also, on several of his military sheets it states he was born in North Hampton, NC, so I don't know where he was born. My Mom just had to go to the nursing home for good and she always wanted to know where and who he came from and the circumstances of his being put up for adoption and he would not talk to her about it either, but you could see it upset him if anyone ment ioned it, like he knew something bad he didn't want us to know. Also, my mother told me his adopted Mom would yell things at him like he was white trash or cruel things like that when she was upset and I think it's why he went into and pretty much stayed in the service until after her death, just to not be too close. He passed away in 1-?-1973 but his son, also named Frederick Boege still lives in Whitevile. I have not been able to find a phone number but would like to have his address so I can write a letter. He and his sister were left in an orphange in New York City, NY when they were young children, never seeing their parent's again Birth Mother Sue Seidenberg is deceased in 2006 Her dob 1/6/1927. She was born in Winston Salem, NC to Miles and Elizabeth (Kirby) Sprinkle.It has been reported recently by Sue's youngest sister, who still lives in Winston Salem, NC that when Jim was born Sue came to live with an older brother in Winston Salem, gave birth and a couple from Philly, PA came and got the baby boy, paid Sue and left. I have a photo of the couple in front of a church in Philly PA, holding Jim and he was baptized that day. Dan and Sue spilt up sometime between 1956 and 1958. Sue moved constantly and the children she kept went to many different schools, including California, Virginia, Texas, Missouri and Arizona. I was born at 4:32 am, 4 lbs, 2.5 oz, 36 week pregnancy. My parents were divorced in South Carolina in 6-?-1955 prior to my birth on 9-26-1955. My mother planned to marry someone else. My father would not release me for adoption for some weeks so once I was out of the incubator I was placed in foster care and then placed in my adoptive home on 1-11-1956. The adoption was handled by the county social services, and was finalized on 3-20-1957. My guess (but purely a guess) is that perhaps they resided in one of the SC cities not too far from Asheville, Greenville, Spartanburg, etc or that area. This would allow my mother to fairly easily travel back to SC for divorce hearing and also allow her to maintain contact with whatever support system she may have had (friends, family, whatever in SC). I was able to locate my original birth certificate because I knew I was born in Asheville on 9-26-1955 and that I was premature. Only one birth certificate fit the bill, and the fact that I was given no name except the surname Beaton on that birth certificate also suggest everyone knew this was temporary. All other female babies born on or around that birth date were considerably larger birth weight and given full names, so I am reasonably confident this is my original birth certificate.
