All Other Information: My mother is 59,she received a box of letters that her "mother" had written in 1946 and 1947 that never mentioned being pregnant or having a baby. she speaks of a lawyer from Texas (where adoptive parents are from) and money in the letters, but never a baby. her half sister told her when she was a child that Lola Mae Griffin was not her mother. Lola Mae could not have children we have heard due to a tubular pregnancy. my mother looks like her adoptive father, Johnny E Griffin. Lola Mae's family said that they never knew my mother existed until Lola died and my mother was 7 years. Johnny worked in Las Vegas or maybe they moved there just for the adoption. there was an affidavit of birth in 11-?-1954, two weeks after Lola Mae griffin died. the affidavit was submitted by Johnny Ernest Griffin and the attending doctor. Lola Mae Griffin was not my mother's birth mother and that she was adopted, BUT that Johnny E Griffin is the birth father. She also may have been born in California, possible Medura. Apparently, my grandfather was dating a woman in California and then met Lola Mae Griffin and they married. When he went to officially break it off with this other woman, she was pregnant. Since Lola Mae could not have children, Johnny asked the girl if she would give them the baby. She was distraught by the breakup and agreed to let them have the baby or so the story goes. So, maybe Madera was the hospital or maybe since Lola Mae and Johnny were living in Las Vegas, she came there to have the baby. Alton said that he saw a picture of the birth mother and that she had sandy blonde hair. I hope that helps in some way. So, Johnny E Griffin is the birth father and the adoptive father also.

All Other Information: I did know one of my birth brothers. Clifford. he was adopted by my adoptive fathers sister and her husband. last name Thom. Clifford died about 8 years ago from a sudden heart attack. I grew up in Georgia and he in California. I met him when I was in my early 20's. about 20 or so years before he died. he knew a lot about our real family as had contact with mom a few times over the years. last he knew mom (Barbara) lived in Bryte California as did our sister Barbara. he thinks lived with mom at the time. sister Barbara was in her teens when Clifford was 8, so I would guess she is in her 60's now. I have also found out brother Waymond (Raymond?) died in 1987 or 88 of a herion overdose. possibly while in Carson City Prison. he was approx. 47 at the time. Seems also that heart problems ran on the Roberts side of the family. not good news. as not getting any younger. I was picked up from a foster home in Reno and I was only a year old. My adoptive mother never would talk about it and says now all her records were destroyed in a fire.
