All Other Information: My grandfather was born in Corning, Ohio on 8-20-1896. His birth father was a coal miner that was killed in a mining accident. His birth mother was killed by a train when he was an infant. He was then placed in an orphanage in Ohio and was not adopted until 1909 by the Fischer family. His adoptive father was a police officer. We do not have any information on the adoptive mother. I believe his birth parents' last name was either Umphrey or Umphreys. My grandfather passed away in 1967, and his son (who was my father) passed away in 2010. No other family members have any additional information. The only other additional information that I have is that the orphanage burned down sometime after 1909. (Update) Fred Charles Fischer was 6' tall, he had blue eyes and blonde to brown hair. His birth mother was killed by a passing train and he was found nearby in some bushes. The only thing we know is that the orphanage he was in burned down in Ohio. The only orphanage in Ohio that had a fire was the Gore Orphanage.

All Other Information: My father believed he was born in Circleville, OH although we have never been able to verify that. He shows up on the Census records in 1920 as being 12 years of age. Also, I have found that my father was married when he was in the army but he did not marry my mother until 1946 so I would like to find out to whom he was married and if they had children. My father died in 1971. I question the birth mother name due to conflicting information I've found with regard to her and the birth father Virgil Givens via genealogy research. My father and mother both visited his birth father before my father went into the Army, or before they left for Germany with the Army. To the best of my knowledge both birth parents are deceased. All Other Information: Looking for birth father. I was adopted at age 2. Born in OH and adopted in CA in 1944. I contacted the law firm of the attorney who handled my adoption (I knew him growing up). The law firm was now run by his grandsons. They told me that all of their grandfather's legal files were destroyed after his death. I knew my birth mother and her her extended family throughout my life. She died in ?-?-2009. I was told birth father was Normand Orlando Wright. Found him and at age 86 he did a DNA test with me showing 0% probability of paternity. He was married to my birth mother during the time of my conception and birth. At the time of my birth, my birth mother was living with a man and his family in Indiana just outside of Cincinnati, where I was born. My birth grandmother, who was raising me, thought that Normand Wright was birth father and listed his name on paperwork used by attorney processing my adoption. I was told my birth certificate couldn't be found, until birth mother could be located. Birth mother said she had listed the man in the family she was living with in Indiana as my birth father. No one knows what his name is. He would likely be around 90 years old, if alive. Normand Wright (supposed birth father, but wasn't) told me that birth mother was sexually involved with a man from Indiana or Ohio around the time I was conceived. These men were stationed at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas at the time of my conception. Birth mother was living in El Paso, TX at this time, also. It was WWII. I want to know who is listed on my original birth certificate (Ohio) and what is in my adoption file (California). Several important medical concerns. 15 months before my birth, my birth mother gave birth to a male child who she put up for adoption. He was adopted by a Mexican couple in El Paso, TX. Normand Wright married birth mother after she was already pregnant with this child. Normand Wright was listed as the baby's birth father (which he wasn't). When my birth brother (deceased) was in his 40s his adoptive father told his family that he was both my birth brother's "blood"/birth and adoptive father. This man's name is Horacio Monteros, El Paso, Texas (deceased). Horacio told the family that he was also the father with the same birth mother (my brother and mine) of a baby girl and that he had tried to adopt her also, but was unable to do so. I want to know if he was my birth father, and not the man in Indiana or was someone else. My birth mother told me she was sexually involved with many men. I have found my brother's (1/2 or full?) family. His daughters are thrilled to have family from their dad's birth mother, who I knew well, and the extended maternal birth family. There is a possibility for a DNA test from saliva on an envelope Horacio Monteros used in ?-?-1932. No other opportunity to prove paternity that we have found. Prior to my birth mother's death, she admitted that Horacio was my brother's birth and adoptive father. She refused to address if Horacio was my birth father. I have a 15 page document of my brother's adoption. I want to know what would be a compelling reason to have a judge be willing to order my file to be opened, especially with both birth mother, adoptive parents being deceased. I also want to know is their a copy of my original birth certificate at Cincinnati General Hospital from ?-?-1942? If so, how do I get access to that? Is their an archive record or auto licence plates at the DMV in Indiana from ?-?-1942? I might have a license plate number of the family my birth mother was living with at the time of my birth. When I was around 3 or 4 months old my birth mother returned to CA (from Ohio/Indiana) where she was from, leaving me with her mother-my birth maternal grandmother. My adoptive parents resided in Glendale, Los Angeles, CA at the time of my birth. They had a close relationship with my birth grandmother throughout their lives. I was 2 years old when adopted. My adoptive Mother originally baby sat me prior to having adopted me. Please help me find out who was listed on my original birth certificate. Was it my brother's birth father? Was it the Indiana man who might have been in El Paso in the Army at the time of my conception? or ? I will follow through with any suggestions. I need direction. I know how to use the computer and will follow through, quickly. I am 67 years old and would like to find who my birth father and family are. I haven't tried to unseal my adoption records (?-?-1944) because I want to know what will be "clear and compelling" and what wouldn't be before I file. Will my age and birth and adoptive parents being deceased increase or decrease my chance for successful petition to unseal my adoption file? I have birth, death dates for all parents involved and other information about birth mother, if needed. Nothing definitive on birth father. All Other Information: Adoptive parents, Virginia Harrold Ginther & Harry Cletus Ginther, celebrated baby James Lee Ginther's birthday on Christmas Eve, 12-24-1945 but he was approximately a couple days old when they got him. Years later, he searched for his birth family & found he had a half-brother, Bob Fitzgerald, born in 1942. Both of them have since passed away. I am trying to research on behalf of my husband, James Lee Ginther Jr. to learn of his father's genealogy. I learned from Bob Fitzgerald's obituary that his mother's name was Marcella Burton but have also learned she may have married a man named Bowman before marrying Bob's father (also Bob Fitzgerald). The curious part I found so far in my research is that the adopted child (my father-in-law) was born 3 years after his half-brother. When his father searched years ago (before internet), he learned that the two half-brothers shared a mother & the story goes that his birth father was a sailor or some other traveling man. I believe I found Marcella's information on ancestry.com & her parents were Victor Burton & Ida Law Burton. I contacted the person who has her listed in their tree but have not gotten a reply as of yet. (Update) Birth mother, Marcella Burton, was about 24 when she delivered baby James. I also recently learned that his birth father was Robert James Fitzgerald, who was a Merchant Marine. It is my understanding he was already married with two daughters but had an affair with Marcella, resulting in two sons, Robert James Fitzgerald II d.o.b. 10-10-1942 and James Lee Ginther (adopted name) d.o.b. around 12-24-1945. We have no other information on his birth father, Robert James Fitzgerald nor do we know physical characteristics of either parent. James Lee Ginther's eyes were blue & his hair was dark brown though his hair may have been lighter when he was younger. James Lee Ginther was 5'10" tall.

All Other Information: Our parents died before the family was reunited. When we were children, six children went to the orphanage, three were returned to my parents, three were adopted out. Two of those three have been found (?-?-2002 & ?-?-2008). We need Franklin to complete our family. We aren't sure of his birth year or date. He should have been 4-6 years old when he was adopted out in ?-?-1954. Of the eight remaining siblings,our ages range from 55-80 years old. We are anxious to find Franklin and complete our family. Birth mother resided in Washington, D.C. until about 15-20 years ago. Birth mother sent birthday cards to adoptee c/o Mrs. Joanne B. All Other Information: My mother was 14 years old. Her parents sent her to Marimont, Ohio where her sister Hazel Glick was working, to have a baby. My mother was born 9-10-1935. My brother was possibly born in about ?-?-1949. My Aunt Hazel Jones told her daughter about my mother haveing a baby at 14. Aunt Hazel made Katie promise she would not tell me about the baby until she was dead and gone. Aunt Hazel died 12-13-2011. I am 55 years old and if I do have an older brother, I would love to have the chance to meet him. I am sure I would not be able to travel there, but I would love to talk to him. I do not know who the birth father would be. My father told me when I got pregant out of wedlock that my mother should not say anything because she had had an abortion before I was born. So I never thought any more about it. I never got the chance to ask my mother about it. She died of Cervical Cancer 3-5-2005. I have a younger brother who is 54, a younger sister who is 52 and a another brother who is 50.

All Other Information: (Update) My husband is looking for his sister he just found out about, recently that his mother gave birth to a daughter in the Catherine Booth home for unwed mothers in Cincinnati, Ohio on 9-25-1949. Her name was Kathleen Ann Johnson and her mothers name was Virginia Mae Johnson. Birth mother passed away 5 years ago without ever telling him. He would like to know more about his birth sister. (Update) Birth mothers age at the time she gave birth was 16. She was about 5'5" tall, brown hair, hazel eyes, white race, we assume the daughter was adopted but she was left at the Katherine Booth Home for Unwed Mothers. We are not sure of the birth father, if the person it is rumored to be he has brown hair and is about 5'8' and would have been about 18 years old. His race is also white. All Other Information: My half brother would now be 60 years old. I have known of his existance since I was 5 years old. I will soon be 54. My mother was 13 yrs old when she had my brother. She never realised that her baby would be taken away from her. She took care of him for 6 weeks in the Home and earned a small amount of money cleaning the Director's apartment.The day she went to buy her baby a layette at the local 5& dime, she returned to find him gone. Apparently, it was the practice in those days, that if social services paid for the birth of the baby and the mother was unwed,the baby was taken by social services. My mother's father was killed in an automobile accident in 1947. He left behind a wife and 5 children. They were living on Social Security and probably some welfare assistance. My mother was raped by a distant cousin by marriage. She was sent to the Florence Crittenden Home for Unwed Mothers in Columbus, Ohio. Later after she was sent home, she ended up being sent to Rochester, NY to live with her maternal aunt. There she eventually met and married a man with whom she had 7 more children. He always knew about David Lee. I am the oldest of their 6 girls and 1 boy. I was 16 when my baby brother was born. My mother and father named him David after the oldest brother we have never known. Our parents have passed away now. My mother always wanted David Lee to find her. In 1996 she had me try to find him then. We were told that his records were destroyed in a fire and that there is no way to locate him. I have called what used to be the Crittenden Family Services and spoken with someone in records. She promises to try to find David Lee Wilson's information in their disarrayed archives. I pray she can. If any of this sounds familiar, and you may be related to my half brother or may actually be him, Please contact me. David Lee has 7 siblings that would dearly love to know him or his family. We are a huge group now and want nothing but to give him all the love we have held for him for over 50 years.
