All Other Information: Gordon Totire is Gregorio Totire (teachers changed his name upon entering school. Gordon is alive and 90 years old trying to find any information about his birth family. We have a record from New Haven Orphan Asylum dated 1-26-1922 saying legal papers would be released to Mr. Antonio Totire upon payment. Using Ancestry.com, we have found a DeVito family living in New Haven, Connecticut in ?-?-1900 - Father is Joseph DeVito, Mother is Celia DeVito. They have four children - Antoinette, Victor, George and Albert. Albert is one month old at the 1-?-1920 census taking which is correct for Gordon's birth date of 12-1-1919. In the ?-?-1930 census we find siblings - Antoinette, Victor and "Guido" living in New York (I believe) with father - Joseph Eacone and Mother "Elsie". we wonder if maybe Joseph DeVito died in New Haven. (Update) He was born Albert DeVito on 12-1-1919 at home (107 Franklin Street) in New Haven, CT. He is the son of Joseph DeVito - this is what we suspected from the 1920 Census. the census lists his mother as "Celia" DeVito. Maiden name of his mother on his birth certificate is extremely difficult to read. Right now we would like to concentrate on the siblings listed on the 1920 census Antonette, Victor and George who we later find in the 1930 census living in Brooklyn Kings, New York with Joseph and Elsie Eacone. (George is listed as "Guido" in 1930 but we believe they are the same children. Birth years match up and both census' show that of the three children only Victor is born in Italy.

All Other Information: My father was born on 6-8-1954 in what I believe was hartford hospital. His birthplace was listed as east hartford, so I am not 100 percent sure. He was believed to have had a sister, but this may or may not be true, there could be more or none at all. I believe he was taken by the state of CT from his birth parents around the age of 8 years old. He went from orphanage to orphanage before finally being adopted at approximately age 11 or so. All Other Information: My father Edgar Wilcox Hunnicutt gave me this information before he died. He was age 30 and the girl was 19 and worked in his office in Chicago, IL. She may have been from Michigan or Minnesota. He said he impregnated her Thanksgiving 1954 at her parent's home. He was separated from my mother at the time. Her first name has a strange spelling which she insisted upon, Velreen. I'm not sure of date of birth, but, my full sister was born 8-2-1955, (conceived just before Christmas) born about 7 weeks premature, different mother. The story goes that when my father found out my mother was pregnant he went back to her in Connecticut and resumed the marriage. However, he had also impregnated Velreen. He sent for Velreen to finish out her pregnancy at his mother's house in West Hartford, CT. She delivered within two weeks of my mother because the nurses recognized my father as having been in two weeks before. I also understand my mother found out by seeing the announcement in the newspaper. There were two papers at the time, the Hartford Courant and the Hartford Times. I am not sure which baby came first but it would seem the middle of August would be more appropriate for a Thanksgiving conception. One time when asked he said the adoption was "open" in that if the boy ever wanted to get in touch with him he could have, but, he never did. If this was true he may not have kept up his recent addresses as he moved a lot. My mother's name at the time was Natalie Ruth (nee Akehurst) Hunnicutt and lived on Bridlepath Rd. West Hartford, Connecticut at the time of birth. I'm not sure of the name of the adoption agency, but, it had a blue roof, was called the "orphanage" and was on Prospect and Albany Ave. Hartford. My father's YDNA is posted on YSEARCH.com. He was tested to 67 markers with FTDNA before he died. It is located on FTDNA.com under the Honeycutt project. I am a family historian and have a wealth of information on the Hunnicutt family back to the 1700s. My father had some medical problems. He died from complications from a stroke 1-?-2009 in Connecticut. He and his brother had all girls. The name, Hunnicutt has died, but, I know he has a son, somewhere. Once he said in Rhode Island, but, I don't know if he really knew that. I would love to meet my brother some day, but, the Connecticut laws have become so very restrictive I don't know where to start. Thank you so much. You all must be angels.

All Other Information: I am looking for my birth parents. I don't know a lot except that I was born at Hartford Hospital and placed with Children's Services of Connecticut 1680 Albany Av. Hartford, CT. 6-17-1958 I was 6 lbs 10 oz.and 18 1/2 inches long. I believe I was in a foster home because I have a paper stating a schedule of me from when I woke up in the morning till I went to bed at night. A geneologist recent found me and she had put me in touch with a Verna Keeler's family in Brookefield, CT. I spoke to Verna's sister and Verna had passed away. The geneologist thought that Verna was my birth mother but when I talked to the sister she said that Verna did not have a baby put up for adoption. My adoptive parents died some time ago but I thought I did remember that she told me that my birth mother she thought was 17 when she got pregnant with me. I have a letter from Children's services dated 9-10-1958 stating that they had a baby girl 3 months old that they thought my adoptive parents might be interested in. My adoptive parents were living in Waterford, CT. at that time.I also have a stamped paper from the probate court with the final decree with my adoption stamped 8-5-1959. I know that I do not have much but I feel so lost and would like to know about my birth parents, medical history and possible siblings. (Update) I paid to get my ID information from the adoption agency in Connecticut. When Verna's sister said that Verna did not put a baby up for adoption. I now know that Verna did put a baby girl named Deborah Lee Keeler up for adoption. I have all the information I now need to prove that I am who I thought I was. Also a woman contacted me that lives in Connecticut and she did alot of foot work searching for me there in Danbury and Brookfield, CT. and she has told me 100% that Verna Keeler did have a baby 6-12-1958 and put her up for adoption. She lived at home (this is what my ID information says) until she started to show. (Her Father (my mgf) did not know she was pregnant, so her mother (my mgm) took Verna to live with a married sister until the 8th month and then she lived in a maternity home until she went into labor and then went to the hospital and had me. When I spoke to Judy the first time she admitted to me that there was a time when Verna was not living at home and was at a married sister's house. She also told me alot of things about her family that is in my records. By the time Judy contacted me again she changed her story and I saw what was going on. I was a secret to alot of the sisters but not to all of them. From what it seems is that Verna may have lived with Wanda. So, some of the sisters do know about this but maybe not all of them. I know for a fact that Verna did not graduate from Danbury high school but went back to school after having me. I wish that I would have started searching while Verna was alive. There is a lot more to this story. I wish someone would contact me so I may know about my birth family.

They found her through her brother who I belive still lives here in ct. If she doesnt want contact could I please just get a letter or pictures and no contact if thats what she wants. Maybe find other birth family? both my adoptive parents have died as have both my adopted brothers. If anyone is searchimg for their adopted sons, maybe I can provide info. the boys birthdays were 3-10-1963 ND 1-29-1960 they were also CT adoptions. I believe the last names were Williams and Rivera
