All Other Information: Not much is known about her birth but she was supposed to have been born on the Rosebud Resservation in South Dakota although that remains unconfirmed. Finding her natural birth parents is my wish. I beleive that one side of her family is that of a descendant of George Graham born ?-?-1938 in Canada. It is unknown which desendant she belongs to but I believe it is one of 4 possibilities- Lenna Graham born ?-?-1898 in Nebraska her father George born ?-?-1873 in Illinois, hs sister Mary or her daughter Delsia Williams. Esther Saunders was supposed to be Indian but nothing else is known except that Lenna Graham appears to have followed her state to state. James B Saunders.

All Other Information: Darold Henry Arning is the 6th of 6 children born to Mary Smith b. Minnesota 1902/3. No official documents have been found other than long form of birth certificate. His father Henry has been located in New Rochelle New York, where he had remarried and later died June 1970. Darold heard the name Tillie as he was growing up and only met her once. He figures Jim amd Tillie brought / smuggled him across the border at Pigeon River then split up very soon after although Darold does not remember any of this. His step Mom was a lady named Pearl, since deceased. When he was in his late 20's he found out he came from the US and had a complete name change to Jim Laughren. Jim Laughren, the step father, refused to give Darold any information about his birth so he went to " Tillie " in Thunder Bay. She also refused to talk to him so he threatened to go to Immigration. She then gave him an address to write to and he received his birth certificate. He never saw Tillie again. Further Comments -- Jim Laughren sometimes used the name Laughton. He worked as a bush worker in the US and later in Canada did the same as well as owned a scrap yard. Darolds father, Henry Arning, is listed in the 1930 census in the penetentiary in Wisconsin . There must be a record somewhere with next of kin listed ? The birth certificate (1927) lists him as father, bookeeper in Stevens Point. Recently I came across a Tillie Arning in Story Iowa 1930 Census. Could this be the Tillie that ended up in Thunder Bay in early 1930's ? No trace of Mary or children have been found after Darolds birth 1927. Any information that may lead Darold Henry Arning to his family is greatly appreciated .
