All Other Information: Oscar and Edith Cummings from Lincoln, Nebraska or Colorado, may have filled in adoption papers for Douglas Eryl (Alert) Sumpter, but Oscar died before adoption completed. Douglas Eryl always used the last name of Cummings. When Eryl was six years old, he was living in a rooming house in Lancaster, Grant County, Nebraska, with a man by the name of Carl. W. Wagner, Wagner's half-brother, Herbert F. Robb and a 2 year old by the name of Donald Stears, also listed as Wagner's son. Eryl A. Cummings (not Sumpter) was also listed as a son of Carl Wagner. It's possible after the death of Oscar Cummings, Eryl A. Cummings went to live with Carl Wagner and he may have known the Cummings family, since the name was Eryl A. Cummings. Eryl's nickname was "Red" or "Brick" because he had beautiful auburn hair. Can anyone help me locate the families of Carl W. Wagner, Herbert F. Robb or Donald Stears? It's possible they belonged to the Seventh-Day Adventist church since the Cummings family were SDAs. If anyone can help it will be appreciated so much. Thank you. Eryl (Sumpter) Cummings lived in several foster homes in Colorado and Nebraska before and after living with Edith and Oscar Cummings. The Cummings had a son by the name of Olynn Cummings, and he and Eryl and Edith were all living in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1920 at 208 North Eighth Street. He would have been 15 or 16 years of age, about the time Edith Cummings revealed who his own birth mother, Ora Sumpter Mathis, was and Eryl found his precious birth mother and wonderful half-brothers. One record my father had showed him as being in Norman, Oklahoma in 1905, but I can't find the document right now. Until my father passed away at age 89, he attempted to find his own birth father, whose last name may have been Bucher or Butcher. No first name was given. It is not known if anyone by that name was in Laverne, Harper County, Oklahoma in 1903 or 1904. His father may have been in sales. Around that period of time, many saleman went into the county selling farm equipment and Eryl's family lived on a farm. It's also possible someone by the name of Bucher or Butcher attended a normal school in Woodward County (near Harper County) in 1903 or 1904, since one account was that Ora Sumpter had met and fallen in love with the father of her son while attending normal school, which would have been around 1903. They were supposed to be married, but she broke the engagement. One story suggests Eryl's father had a connection with the Fox Hotel in Laverne, Oklahoma, but records I have checked say it was constructed in 1912, which would be eight or nine years after Eryl's birth. Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated more than I can say.

(Update) My mother, Lillian Margaret Stanton, was born about 1-?-1910 (we have 12-28-1909). She was born in the Oklahoma City, OK area. She was "adopted" or taken under a "guardianship" status out of the "Sunbeam Home" in Oklahoma City, OK when she was 2 or 3 months old. Their records burned in 1920. I heard as a child, that German people could not adopt a Jewish child and that is why mother wasn't adopted. She was called the little Jew girl. Mother knew nothing about her biological parents.

All Other Information: My grandmother Faye L.Warren ( b. 9-14-1914) (d. 11-27-1994) married Bob Cox 1931-1936. (Vinita,Oklahoma) They had a son born during this time but I don't know his birth name other than Corky which I assume it is a nickname. Bob Cox was charged and convicted of murdering his mother sometime during the marriage to my grandmother. I understand she left him because of the of criminal charges and she never went back. Leaving behind her son named "Corky". I am not sure if Bob's family ended up raising him or what happened to him. I do know he tried to make contact with her after becoming an adult and she wouldn't have anything to do with him, and why I am not sure. My Father (Wayne nmn Franklin (b. 2-1-1937 - d.12-20-1994) was born to Faye L. Cox shortly after her divorce from Bob Cox, so there is a possibility Bob is the father, but I have been told it is Norris A. Pilgrim, and that my father birth name was Norris Wayne Pilgrim. However, the name Wayne Cox shows up on the birth certificate. I have been told by many father members that when my grandmother remarried, he was adopted by her new husband and given the name Wayne nmn Franklin. I recently visited with my grandmothers sister that gave me the information, she told me my father was born at the home and not at a hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma. I need help figuring out my fathers real birth name, and finding his brother "Corky" Cox. All Other Information: My mother, Kay Brinkman (maiden) Laird who is 67, was just looking at her birth certificate. She is the eldest child of two. However, on the certificate, it states that her mother said she had 1 other live child at the time of my mother's birth. As my mother and I discussed this, both her parents are deceased, we realized that her parents very may well have had a child out of wedlock because her mother quit the University of Kansas with only 1 semester left because her "knees hurt." My mother would love to see if there is any registry of Maxine Gooch having a baby in Kansas. The four top locations would probably be: Wichita, Ft. Scott (Bourbon County), Lawrence or Kansas City. My mother's name is Kay Brinkman. Her mother's name was Maxine Gooch Brinkman, born to William Sanford Gooch and Laura Grace Buckner in Mapleton, Kansas. The Gooches lived most of their lives in Ft. Scott, where William Sanford Gooch was a physician. The potential year of birth of baby Gooch would have been early 1930's, and probably in the last 6 months of 1932 or 1933. According to the decree he was place in the Home of Redeeming Love on 10-1-1940 and was adopted 2-6-1942 by William Raymond and Alma Jean (Dobrinski) Kessler. Gary Kessler's hair color is black his eyes are more brown than green he stood or stands in the range of six foot one to six foot two. According to DHS, adopted first at 6 months. DHS indicated birth and first adoptive mothers knew each other. Both of my first adopted parents divorced and re-married while I was in their custody. Was returned to DHS in 7-?-1951 because health problems of first adoptive mother (Polio, other medical problems) and not being accepted by new spouses. For one year I was in / out of various DHS foster homes in Norman and Noble, Oklahoma. 7-7-1952, adopted by Mac and Elbeth Perry (Second Adoption). Elbeth died 9-?-1954 and Mac died 4-?-1988. I remember being called Bobby before second adoption, not sure if that was my correct name. Remember very little before 5 and a little while in foster homes. All Other Information: My mother was born at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma on 2-11-1958. She weighed approx 5 lbs at birth. She was adopted by a Mr. Earl Fairchild and a Mrs. Eleanor Fairchild. We believe that she may have been the product of an affair that James Hamilton had with an unknown female and convinced that female to give the baby up for adoption to the Fairhilds. Earl Fairchild also happen to be James Hamiltons brother, he was married to Earls sister, and they could not have children. We believe this was done because the Fairchilds were not able to have children and this would be a perfect way to cover up the affair. We do not believe that Eleanor had any idea of the affair or whos baby she was adopting as Earl handled all the arrangemns. The attorney in the case Everett Berry Jr. was also Earl and James nephew so he could work the paperwork for the adoption uder the table where no one would ever learn of the affair and where the child came from. Margaret Fairchild passed away 4-?-2008 and I desperate to find anyone who was blood related to her. (Update) In search of birth mother, birth father, birth siblings or any other possible birth family members of a white baby girl born 2-11-1958 in Stillwater, OK. The adoptive parents are Earl and Eleanor Fairchild of Ripley, OK. It was a private adoption handled by a lawyer in Stillwater / Pawnee named Everett Berry. The birth mothers last name at the time of birth was White. She may have been from up around the Maccomb, OK Pottowatamie county area. I believe We believe she was only in Ripley / Stillwater during the short time she was pregnant and the adoption decree states that she was granted permission by the judge to leave the state as soon as the adoption was finalized for employment seeking purposes. I believe that she may have been an older woman at the time of the birth possibly in her late 30s or early 40s and that she may have been divorced. It's possible she had 2 older children whom she hid the pregnancy from. We believe the daughter would have been somewhere around 13 and was sent to live with relatives during the pregnancy and that the son was around 18 and had just joined the military and was possibly leaving for basic training or for his first assignment a few days after the birth and that the birth mother left the hospital to go straight to Oklahoma City, OK to see him off. We believe neither of them had any idea about the pregnancy. We do not believe that the birth father was her (ex)husband. We believe that she may have been staying with a relative possibly her mother or an aunt or something whose last name was Phillips. We think the relative Mrs. Phillips she was staying with was a cook in the Ripley Public School cafeteria and that is how they met the adoptive mother because she was a teacher at the same school. I am the adoptee's daughter and my mother has since passed away in 2009. Their may be a family history of lupus or any other type of auto immune disease in the birth family. I am not looking to cause any trouble for the birth family, nor am I looking for money or any other kind of personal gain. I'm simply a daughter who misses her mother terribly and wants more than anything to find someone who is connected to my mother and that I can look at and see my mother in them. I want to learn where my mother came from as well as have some family of my mothers for my children to grow up with since they are having to miss out on having such an amazing grandmother. All Other Information: I wrote to the vital statistic's office in Kankakee, Ill. where it is listed on my birth certificate as my father's place of birth, for a b-c of his. an they sent back saying they did'nt have a listing for a Noah Edward Green born 10-19-1941, but had a Edward Noah Green born 10-19-1942 so I assumed this may be the man. but really not sure. I was never legally adopted. I don't know anything about myself at all. I was told that my father was living in Akron, Ohio when my birth mother left him as she was 15 years of age. I believe he was 18. I was told my grandfather's wife was named Sue or my fathers sister name was Sue. and that he also had a sister named Patricia. I can not be positive about any of this as it was told to me just before my biological mother had passed on. my mother was residing in Hillsboro, New Hampshire after she had left from Akron. on my b-c it has my father's occupation listed as a Hydralic Mechanic. I have been searching for this man since I was 18 years old.and I can't seem to locate him or anyone that even think's they may know him. but I have been on my own since the age of 17 with no mother, father,sister's or brother's and it has'nt been to say the least easy at all for me. I am soon to be 49, and have longed for maybe one day to spend a holiday with my family or be able to tell my children this is my dad or my aunt or uncle. I have never had a relationship with my biological mother her sister raised me till the age of 17. and I would just like to maybe one day say hey I have a family too.
